Statement on Senate Appropriations Passage of AB 2873
Bringing Affordable Housing Jobs and Resources to Historically Disadvantaged Communities
“The communities that need affordable housing also need good jobs”
SACRAMENTO – Today, California YIMBY released the following statement about the passage of AB 2873 in the Senate Appropriations Committee:
“As we ramp up the production of subsidized affordable housing, we have an opportunity to also make sure that communities that have been historically disadvantaged get the jobs and related opportunities associated with housing growth,” said Brian Hanlon, CEO of California YIMBY. “AB 2873 will begin the process of keeping track of where our affordable housing dollars are spent, and help make sure that under-represented communities get a fair shot at winning the business of building affordable housing in the communities where they already live. Thanks to Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer for advancing this important reform.”
