California YIMBY Statement on Passage of AB 3155 from Assembly Housing & Community Development Committee
Sacramento – California YIMBY issued the following statement from President and CEO Brian Hanlon on the passage of AB 3155 out of the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee:
“With the passage of AB 3155 from the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee today, Assemblymember Rob Rivas showed us the kind of strong leadership we need to end the housing shortage,” said Hanlon. “This bill is a crucial component of the housing package emerging from the Legislature. AB 3155 will expand home building where we need it the most, while spurring rapid economic recovery by putting ‘mom and pop’ builders back to work. We’re impressed by the large and diverse coalition that Assemblymember Rob Rivas built to support AB 3155, and we’re especially grateful to the YIMBYs from every corner of California who helped pass this bill out of committee, against some formidable opposition. Pro-housing legislators know that when it’s time to pass meaningful reforms, California YIMBY and our allies have their backs.”
