“With Wiener’s bill facing a Jan. 31 deadline to advance out of the Senate or die, Atkins reassigned it from Appropriations to the Senate Rules Committee, which she chairs. That’s a power move worthy of praise.
Newsom is also being more constructive, telling reporters this week that his office was helping Wiener to round up votes to help his bill advance and to “get something big done.”
