Here are some messages to keep in mind while calling:
- You’re a constituent, and you’d like your Assemblymember to vote YES on SB 1117.
- ADUs can creatively meet a variety of housing needs.
- However, there is currently a massive cost cliff for ADUs if they go over 750 sq ft, limiting the ability for families to plan according to their own needs.
- SB 1117 fixes this by switching to a marginal fee structure so only the square footage over 750 sq ft can be charged impact fees, not the whole unit.
- Please vote Yes on SB 1117 to reduce cost barriers to building flexible and versatile ADUs.
